Last updated: July 2, 2026
These Terms of Use (the "Terms") define the conditions under which the Relief mobile application (the "Application"), available on the App Store, is made available to users, as well as the rights and obligations of the parties in this context. Use of the Application implies full and unconditional acceptance of these Terms.
The Application is published by the Relief team, developed as part of the Apple Build Challenge organized on the occasion of WWDC, by a team of four students from École 42 Paris.

Relief is an emotional regulation and clarity application. It offers guided journeys (question-and-answer flows, breathing exercises, grounding, journaling, drawing) as well as an emotional overview allowing users to consult the history of their past sessions.
Relief is a personal wellbeing tool. It does not constitute a medical device, a diagnostic tool, or a substitute for professional psychological or medical advice, monitoring, or treatment. In the event of significant psychological distress, suicidal thoughts, or an emergency situation, users are urged to contact emergency services immediately or a healthcare professional.
The Application is available free of charge to any user with a compatible device and access to the App Store. The publisher uses all reasonable means to ensure quality access, without guaranteeing continuous or error-free availability.
Using the Application does not require creating an account. Data is stored locally on the user's device. Use of the Application is not recommended for individuals under the age of 13.
All elements making up the Application (structure, text, graphics, logo, animated form, audio and visual elements) are protected by intellectual property law and remain the exclusive property of the publisher. Any unauthorized reproduction, representation, or exploitation is prohibited.
Content entered by the user (answers, journaling notes, drawings) remains their property. The user warrants that they hold the necessary rights to the content they create within the Application and agrees not to include unlawful content.
The publisher shall not be held liable for direct or indirect damages resulting from the use or inability to use the Application, nor for decisions made by the user based on the content offered by the Application.
The publisher reserves the right to change, at any time, the features of the Application as well as these Terms. Users will be informed of any material change via the Application or the App Store.
These Terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, an amicable solution will be sought as a priority before any legal action is brought before the competent courts.

The controller for personal data collected via Relief is the Relief team, reachable at: contact@relief-app.fr.
Relief does not collect any personal data on a remote server. Information related to using the Application (answers given during guided journeys, identified emotions, completed activities, emotional overview history) is saved locally only, directly on the user's device, and never leaves it.
Processing is based on the performance of the service requested by the user. As data is stored exclusively on-device and never transmitted, it is not otherwise processed by the publisher.
Data is stored exclusively on the user's device, within the Application's own storage space. It is subject to iOS's native security mechanisms and is automatically deleted if the Application is uninstalled.
As data is stored exclusively on-device, no data is shared with any third party or transmitted to the publisher.
Data is retained locally until the user deletes the relevant sessions or uninstalls the Application. Uninstalling the Application permanently deletes all stored data.
In accordance with the GDPR, users have the following rights over their data: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. They may also set guidelines regarding the fate of their data after their death.
These rights can be exercised by writing to contact@relief-app.fr. Users also have the right to lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection authority (in France, the CNIL — www.cnil.fr).
The Application does not require creating an account, and its use is not recommended for children under the age of 13. No data is knowingly collected from users below this age.
This policy may be updated at any time to reflect changes to the Application or to applicable regulations. Users will be informed of any material change.
